Take away all the of the Godzilla labeling and roars and you have yourself an EXCELLENT Saturday Night Monster Movie. 

The movie gets a bum rap for not being a good “Godzilla Movie.” (Although any film critic would rate it higher than 90% of the franchise…) It does lack Kaiju movie charm, but people expected too much out of it! It’s fucking giant monster movie! Get over yourselves. Yes, I prefer many of the classic films to the 1998 film, but you can’t lose sight of what’s FUN in life: explosions and giant dinosaurs.

A lot of people who think it’s ok that Godzilla can fly backwards across the sky by shooting his energy blast really hard, also think it’s not ok for Ferris Bueller to fight him. WTF. Those are equally stupid things.

I akin Kaiju fans who rant about the ‘98 film unabashedly to GEEWUN Transformers Fans. It happened. It was what everyone knew it would be. They’re franchises designed to make money, not appease fans, though it’s nice if both can happen. Get over it.

I loved that cartoon though. It wasn’t the best animation, but come on. IT’S MONSTERS. GIANT MONSTERS. WEEKLY. They even did a Destroy All Monsters arc!
