This is my cat, Nawla. She’s 16 years old, and was my only friend for the good first half of my life. While my home life was in ruins as a child, she was the only constant. My mom’s exes have burned her with cigarettes, kicked her up to ceiling, stomped on her and yelled at her for no reason.
